On this project, we were engaged by Keurig at their facility where they package K-cups. Our primary responsibility was to replace a failed chiller with a new, energy-efficient unit, ensuring the facility could continue its operations without disruption.
Our work involved several critical steps. First, we ordered the new chiller, and then safely drained the old one of refrigerants and oils, making it environmentally safe for recycling. We disconnected all associated services to remove the old chiller, and once the new unit was in place (with help from our rigging subcontractor), we reconnected chilled water piping and coordinated with the electrical and controls contractors, both of whom were contracted by Keurig. We also worked closely with Trane’s factory representative to ensure proper setup.
One of the main challenges we faced was the extremely tight space in which we had to maneuver the old chiller out and the new one in. With the expertise of our plumbers and operations service team, alongside the support of New England Air’s service people, we successfully completed the installation, overcoming space constraints to deliver a seamless upgrade.
