One of the Best Places to Work in Vermont
We have been repeatedly honored with the award of one of the Best Places to Work in Vermont for 5 years in a row. A collaboration between Vermont Business Magazine, the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM), Vermont State Council, VT Chamber of Commerce and Workforce Research Group, this award recognizes Vermont employers that have achieved the highest scores in a two-part anonymous employee survey about the company’s policies, practices, and employee experiences.
Training
We believe in the importance of continuous training and education to invest in our team members for successful careers and understanding of our industry. Our company provides a career path for our employees. We are committed to ensuring that every employee has the knowledge and skills to succeed in their roles.
Some key aspects of our training program include:
OSHA 10 Construction Training: Before heading out into the field, all our employees complete the OSHA 10 Construction training.
Specialized Training & Safety: We offer specialized training and safety programs for different job roles, including forklift and crane signal persons, riggers, confined space, and annual hearing tests for our shop employees.
Apprenticeship Programs: We are dedicated to cultivating the next generation of skilled professionals. Our plumbing, sheet metal, and service apprenticeship programs provide a structured learning environment. We utilize a combination of in-house training with Interplay Learning – SkillMill courses and NCCER certifications. Our plumbers attend classes at Vermont State University with NCCER certification to prepare themselves to test for their journeyman license. All of these programs involve 144 classroom hours yearly and 8,000 hours of on-the-job training, typically taking about four years to complete.

Core Certifications: We encourage our employees to achieve core certifications relevant to their roles.
- Our Service Techs can earn certifications in Natural Gas, EPA, Propane, Oil, Electrical Type S, and Plumbing Specialty.
- Plumbers in New Hampshire and Vermont have the opportunity to achieve Master/Journeyman license along with Backflow Preventer and Medical Gas certifications.
- Sheetmetal professionals can earn NCCER certification in-house.
- Our IAQ (Indoor Air Quality) specialists can obtain NADCA certification and are trained in confined spaces.
- Our licensed Engineers participate in ongoing professional development hours.
Continuing Education: To maintain certifications and licenses our employees have access to ongoing education and training. New England Air Systems covers the cost of license renewals, testing and training.
Opportunities for Growth and Advancement: We foster a culture of growth and advancement. We believe in promoting from within and offering our employees the chance to progress in their careers.
